Privacy Policy
Effective 29 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data StoxGud (stoxgud.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the site.
What we collect
- Account details — when you sign up: your name, email address and password. We never store your password itself, only a one-way scrypt hash of it.
- Google sign-in — if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us. We do not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data.
- Profile and preferences — if you set them in Settings: a display name, an avatar choice, an optional mobile number and your app settings (theme, start page, Live Flow alerts, number format). We use them only to run your account; we don't call or text you, and we don't share them.
- Billing details — when you buy Pro or Premium on our checkout page: your full name, mobile number, state or union territory, when you accepted the Terms, and whether you said it's OK to contact you on WhatsApp (optional, off unless you tick it). We use them for your receipt and GST invoice (the state is your place of supply), to handle billing or account problems, and, only if you agreed, to contact you on WhatsApp about your account. We also pass your name, mobile and state to Razorpay with the payment. We never use them for marketing.
- Watchlist and price alerts — if you have a plan and set them: your price targets (from your watchlist or a Live Flow chart) and alert settings, and a record of which alerts we've sent you, so you don't get the same one twice. A Live Flow price alert is sent as a desktop or phone notification if you've turned those on, otherwise by email.
- Desktop alerts — if you turn them on in Live Flow: your browser's push address and keys (issued by your browser's push service) and whether you follow bullish, bearish or all order blocks, so we can send those notifications. Turning desktop alerts off, or deleting your account, removes them.
- Chart screenshots — if you press Take screenshot in Live Flow: the picture of the chart and its label (stock, timeframe, time), saved to your account so you can see them on every device you log in on. Only you can see them. They stay until you delete them, and deleting your account deletes them.
- Sign-in cookies —
sg_sessionkeeps you logged in (a random token; we store only a hash of it) andsg_intells our pages you are probably logged in. Both expire after 30 days or when you log out. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. - Trading journal — if you use the trading journal: the trades you log (symbol, instrument, side, quantity, prices, dates and times, fees), your setup and habit tags and notes. Only you can see them; we use them only to show your journal, its statistics and your CSV export.
- Reviews — if you write a review: your star rating, text, the display name you choose and, optionally, a role and city. We check reviews before publishing them; once approved, the rating, text, display name, role, city and date are shown publicly on StoxGud. Your email address is never shown.
- Feedback — if you send us feedback: your note, its topic, the part of the site it's about, the page address and rating if you add them, and our replies. We use it to fix and improve StoxGud and to answer you (by email if you've confirmed your address).
- Server logs — like most websites, our web server records IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to keep the site secure and working. Logs are deleted automatically within about two weeks.
- Pages you visit — while you're logged in: the address of each StoxGud page you open (for example Live Flow and which of its tabs), the time, how long the page was on your screen, and whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer. We use it to understand how members use StoxGud, to improve it and to help with account or billing questions. Only StoxGud's administrators can see it. It is kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically, and deleting your account deletes it straight away. We don't record pages while you're logged out, and we never record what you type or the rest of a link.
- Lesson progress — if you use Learn while logged in: which lessons you opened and completed, and your quiz scores. When you're logged out it is kept only in your own browser (local storage) and is copied to your account, then cleared from the browser, the next time you log in on that browser.
You can browse stock pages, screens, comparisons and market summaries without an account.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account, log you in and keep you logged in.
- To send account emails you need: confirming your email address and resetting your password. We do not send marketing email unless you separately opt in.
- To save your lesson progress, so you can carry on where you left off on any device.
- To see which pages members use, so we can improve StoxGud and help you with account questions.
- To protect the service, for example limiting repeated failed logins.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data
StoxGud's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the name, email address and account ID from Google only to sign you in and identify your StoxGud account, and do not transfer them to anyone except as needed to provide that sign-in.
Who processes data for us
- Hostinger — hosts our server and database.
- Your browser's push service (Google, Microsoft, Mozilla or Apple, depending on your browser) — only if you turn on desktop alerts: delivers each alert, including its text, to your browser.
- Brevo — delivers our account emails (your email address and the message).
- Google — only if you use "Continue with Google".
- Razorpay — only if you buy Pro or Premium: processes the payment and renewals. You enter your card, UPI or bank details on Razorpay's checkout; StoxGud never receives them. We store only Razorpay's subscription ID, plan, status and billing dates.
We may disclose data if required by Indian law or a valid order of a court or authority.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing stoxgud@gmail.com from your account's email address. We will do it within 30 days; this permanently erases your account, profile and preferences, sessions and pending email links from our database. Server logs expire on their own as described above, the record of pages you visited after 90 days, and Brevo may keep a delivery log of emails we sent you for a limited period under its own policy. Deleting your account also cancels any Pro or Premium subscription and erases your billing details and watchlist alerts; we keep the subscription's billing record (without your account) and Razorpay keeps its payment records, as tax and payment laws require.
You can delete any journal trade or tag yourself at any time, and download your whole journal as a CSV file first. You can edit or withdraw your review from the review page; withdrawing removes it from the site and our database straight away. Deleting your account also deletes your journal, your review and your feedback notes with our replies.
You can clear your lesson progress at any time with "Start again" on the Learn page, and deleting your account also deletes it.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to: tell you what personal data we hold about you; correct or update it; erase it and close your account; and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. You can also raise a grievance with us, and if we do not resolve it, with the Data Protection Board of India. Email stoxgud@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
All traffic to stoxgud.com is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords and session tokens are stored only as hashes, and access to our server is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use elsewhere.
Children
StoxGud is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please do not create an account.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell account holders by email.
